Welcome to Barrow Sailing Club.

With roots dating from 1897 Barrow Sailing Club has been serving the needs of the yachting fraternity with organised racing and associated sailing activities to date.

Barrow Sailing Club is keen to encourage young people to the sport to enjoy this exciting pastime, however boat berthing is limited and may not be available.

With continued investment in facilities and events we look forward to another 100 years of successful boating.

Covid-19 BSC Committee response

The committee expects all members to adhere to the Governments guidelines that are in force at the current time. This applies to recommendations on social distancing and self isolation for vulnerable people. The committee would like to bring to all members’ attention that they all have a responsibility to ensure that the spread of this virus is eliminated within the club environment by practicing the thorough washing of hands and the use of your own hand sanitizer and keeping 2m apart.

  • The club house is closed
  • The outside toilet is the only w/c; members are reminded to keep it clean
  • Single occupancy sheds to be used solely by the tenant
  • Multi occupancy sheds to be used by one tenant at a time
  • Boats to be accessed by owner and or family members from the same house hold
  • Whilst working on boats externally a 2m social isolation to be observed, if this is not possible then staggered working will be required
  • No boats are to be launched unless it can be done solely by the member and members from the same household
  • The club tractor is not to be used without written agreement
  • No visitors are allowed without good reason and prior agreement
  • When the situation allows boat movements/craning in will be by agreement by the committee with a written safe working method statement being submitted with respect to social distancing and the mitigation of risks

If members cannot adhere to these rules then they will be asked to leave the site and repeat offenders could jeopardise their membership.

Stay safe,

The Committee
